So I really thought i would be better at updating my blog. But alas, I have not. (thanks for the reminder Chad)....
Life has been good. The kids are now on spring break. Although we didnt get to go anywhere as a family this year due to work schedules, we're hoping to have some fun vacations between now and summer.
The kids are growing like weeds. Jordi will turn 17 in a few short weeks and that makes me feel really old...Her cheerleading squad just won state championship this past weekend and I was lucky enough to have gotten to chaperon with a good friend. We really did have a good time. What a fun group of girls Highland Cheer has! Even more impressive is that this group of 24 girls won the state title for academics...they had the highest GPA out of all of the other 5A groups there! I must brag and say that my kid had a 4.25!

As much as I love winter, Im starting to actually get excited because spring time around my place means Chrissy starts rodeo and 4-H. I love to watch her ride her horses! One more year and she will be competing with highschool rodeo! Can't wait for that! This will be the first year that Nik will be able to participate in 4H with his horse, Blondie. He is a good little rider and Im sure he will do well, especially with Chrissy and Scott coaching! Nik just finished up another season of basketball, which he loves. He was sad to see the season come to an end. He really loves the sport and is excited that we have plans to lay concrete under his hoop in the backyard this summer.

My wonderful hubby bought me a fantastic camera for Christmas this year and I have had so much fun taking pics. I will post a few of the kids....the girls dont mind being my test models, but Nik gets bored pretty fast with getting his picture taken. When weather gets warmer i hope to get some nice scenic/nature shots. But I still like taking pics of people best!

New Years Resolution: Keep my blog updated

So after reading numerous other blogs Ive realized how big of a slacker I have been with my own blog. I had several New Years resolutions this year...the usual: be healthier, lose weight, spend more time with the kids, drink more water, save more money, manage stress, take a family vacation, and volunteer more....but I also decided it was time to be more diligent about my blog. I mean its here, I might as well keep it updated for family and friends who are curious as to what the Tysor's are up to. So, for those of you who may need refreshing....Scott and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary on 10-10-10! We went to Las Vegas to play for 5 days and had a great time. We didn't win any money, but we did see a few good shows...The Bodies, The exhibition was so fascinating and The Lion King, the musical was breath taking! We had a great time, and the weather in Vegas was perfect!
Scott is still killing all sorts of pests with his Dad at Tysor PestTech, but he has also been working for The Home Depot and recently has been promoted to department head. He is a real people person and seems to impress all with his mad sales skills.
I am still working as an RN for Bingham Memorial in Blackfoot. I actually recently switched departments, I am no longer in the ICU. I am now at the Idaho Doctors Hospital, a neurosurgery surgical center...I think it will be a good move for me.
Jordi is 16 and a junior in high school. She is on the varsity cheerleading squad and maintains a 4.0 gpa.
Chrissy is in the 8th grade and continues to rodeo with the help of a devoted dad to train her horses and haul her to many events. She really excelled in 4H this last summer.
Nik is in the 2nd grade this year and loves math, recess, and playing soccer, basketball and his Nintendo DS. Although Nik was diagnosed with a form of juvenile arthritis over a year ago, his rheumatologist in Salt Lake City has him on a regimen of medications that have kept him active and pain free for about a year.
I feel so blessed that the Lord has given me such a supportive husband and 3 beautiful, brilliant children. I hope that 2011 is a year to remember and I look forward to all it has to offer! God Bless!

1. I've always wondered why we were taught both printing and cursive. Do you prefer to print or write cursive? (Keyboard is not a choice.)

I actually prefer to do a mix of both cursive and print. Im not sure why my handwriting has turned out that way, but it has. When I sign a form professionally or a check its all cursive and pretty much illegible because I sign my name a lot. But if I were to pen a letter, its mixed cursive and print.

2 Are you a dreamer or a realist?

Realist for sure. I do not like gambling or just hoping (dreaming) things turn out the way I would like them to. I like to make things happen TODAY and not wait around for the "someday". My husband tells me that I live in a box, and its ok to step out of the box. Hmmm...I like squares!

3. Billy Joel or Elton John?

Ew, neither.

4. What is the scariest movie you've ever seen? Not limited to horror flicks but also includes ones where the tension or suspense is killer, for example, Flightplan (2005): A bereaved woman and her daughter are flying home from Berlin to America. At 30,000 feet the child vanishes and nobody admits she was ever on that plan.

Arachnophobia is right up there because I hate bugs. Silence of the Lambs is also one that makes my skin crawl and Jeepers Creepers about made me vomit. But real life scary to me is like the movie Taken when a child is taken and the parents struggle to have the child returned unharmed....those creep me out the most

5. Now what is the scariest real-life moment you've had?
Wow, i cant think of anything right off the top of my head. I have seen some pretty scary things working in the ER, but honestly have been blessed with a healthy happy family. Scary would definitely be anything involving my kids being hurt.

6. What word do you misspell without fail?

Im actually a pretty good speller. Plus spellcheck is awesome. Punctuation however is another story. I have to force myself to capitalize and use periods, apostrophes and such.

7. Name something you like to do but are not really talented or good at.

Photography for sure. I love to take pics, especially ones of people (specifically my kids because I think they make beautiful subjects, lol) and I also enjoy editing and playing with colors. I would love to take some classes and buy my dream camera. (It's $1500 if anyone wants to donate to the cause)

8. Do you get your emotional/mental batteries recharged by being around people or by having alone time?

Alone time for sure. I dont feel recharged unless I get some me time. Even if it's only an hour in the bathtub with a gossip magazine, I love my hour of recharging.

9. Have you ever been on TV?

No! Can you believe it? I am such movie star material! I dont know why I have yet to be "signed"!

10. Apple or pumpkin pie? (Don't be greedy.)

Peach.....with vanilla bean ice cream preferably.

11. How many magazine subscriptions do you have?

Just one, American Journal of Nursing. However my BFF Jill has a subscription to US Weekly magazine which she faithfully hands down to me the following week of publication, so I need to purchase the next years subscription.

12. What lesson do you have to keep re-learning?

Driving the speed limit. My boss nicknamed me "SpeedRacer". Enough said. :(

Ok, so Im finally getting around to updating my blog. Does the blog show what time Im doing this? its midnight, and I have to be up for work @ 0700 in the morning. I think if I get 5 hrs of sleep lately Im doin pretty good.

So last weekend we all went to my little brothers wedding in Nevada.

This is me & my little bro Tim Jr. Notice any family resemblence? And if you're wondering, yes we did drink that 100proof vodka (the night befor the wedding...), and yes, i paid for it the next day. Im getting too old for this kind of crap.

Anyways, other than this, work is great. Ive been at the clinic now for 6 months. I love my co-workers and boss. They are all great. I still work on an as needed basis in the ER, but family practice is a much nicer schedule for someone with a family and trying to go to further their education.

So today was Niks 6th birthday! So my princess persian kitty Maria Tortilla gave birth to two babies one week ago yesterday. They are so cute! One is grey and the other is black & white. We think the b&w one is a boy & the grey one is a girl. We cant wait til they get old enough to be playful & silly. One kitten (the b&w one i think) will be going to live in Elko with my little sister Brooke. We are unsure of the other at this point.....sure might have to keep it! =)

So I have finally decided to join the world of blogging. I really dont know what Im doing just yet. I really hope to just keep in better contact with family & friends, and let them know what the Tysors are up to.
So Scott just finished his WFR training and passed with flying colors. For those of you who dont know, WFR is Wildreness First Responder. He gained very valuable medical knowledge that he can use while on the crazy horse riding trips he takes. Go Scotty!!
